ResonAi · AI Answer Visibility

When a buyer asks AI who to hire,
are you named?

Buyers can now ask an AI assistant who to hire. This diagnostic asks your real buying questions, again and again, and records three things: were you named, who was named instead, and which websites the answer was built from.

Replay of a real run · 24 questions × 3 repeats · Claude with web search · 30 Sept 2026 · we ran it on ourselves

Our own numbers are low, and we're showing them anyway. That is what this diagnostic is for: it tells you where you stand and what would actually move it, including when the honest answer is "not worth chasing".

01 The replay

Click a question. See what the AI did.

Every question was asked three times. For each answer: was ResonAi named, who was named, and which sites the assistant read to write it. Directories are marked in gold. The number on the right is answers naming ResonAi out of answers that returned.

02 The pattern

Who gets named, and where answers come from.

Shortlist answers are built from directories and big-firm content. Advice answers are built from encyclopedias, research firms and software vendors. Smaller firms are anonymised on this public page.

Problem questions0%"Our status reports take hours. What are the options?" Named in 0 of 20 answers.
Solution questions0%"Agents or RPA for a 200-person company?" Named in 0 of 16 answers.
Vendor questions15.4%"Who should I hire to…?" Named in 4 of 26 answers.

Who gets named instead

Share of all firm names counted across every answer.

Where the answers come from

Websites read to build the answers, by number of answers. Gold = directory.

03 What to do about it

The go/no-go, not a dashboard.

Each recommendation names the number it came from, so you can argue with the reasoning instead of taking it on trust.

High
Directories fed the answers 34 times: clutch.co (9), hellodarwin.com (9), revenuebase.ai (7), themanifest.com (5), sortlist.com (4)

Get listed in the directories the answers are built from.

Create or claim a profile on each, with the location stated and the service categories matched to the questions. It's form-filling, not content, and it is the only thing that moves shortlist answers.

High
Built from our own site: 0%. Competitor sites read: 4 different firms, up to 8 answers each

Your site is never read. Competitors' sites are.

This is an absence, not a ranking problem. Publish pages that answer one specific question with specifics, then re-measure. Being the page an answer is built from is worth more than being a name it drops.

Medium
Named on 3 of 24 questions: proposal and RFP automation (1 of the 1 answer that returned), best AI consultants in Vancouver (2 of 3), workflow automation in Canada (1 of 3)

Defend the questions you already appear on.

Find what those answers cited and keep it current. Holding ground is cheaper than taking new ground.

Low
One run is a baseline, not a trend

Re-measure in 60 to 90 days, not sooner.

Same questions, same assistants, same method, or the comparison measures the change in method instead of the change in visibility.

Avoid
Advice answers were built from en.wikipedia.org, finance.yahoo.com, gartner.com, medium.com

Don't try to win advice questions with content.

That is trade press and research at a budget a small firm can't match. Target those questions only to be cited as a source, never to be named.

04 How to read this honestly

What this measures, and what it doesn't.

Repeats are not optional. The same question to the same model can return a different shortlist. One pass gives a number that looks solid and does not reproduce. Volatility is reported for that reason.
Ungrounded answers don't count. An answer written from the model's memory, without searching, says nothing about your visibility today. The diagnostic forces a search or leaves the answer out.
Not a screenshot of one person's chat.Consumer apps add memory and personal context. This is a repeatable index you can re-run and compare, not a guarantee of what any one buyer sees.
This replay covers one assistant. We ran it on Claude with web search. A client diagnostic covers the assistants your buyers use, such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity. 10 of our 72 probes failed to return and are excluded.
